Matt Talbot Retreats offer a unique opportunity for recovering alcoholics and addicts to deepen their spirituality and embrace a sober way of life within a supportive environment that fosters fellowship and sharing throughout the weekend. These retreats are deeply rooted in the principles of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and the 12-step program, making them a true AA spiritual retreat. Our retreat directors, who are both recovering alcoholics and members of the clergy, provide invaluable insights on the spiritual aspects of the disease of alcoholism. A typical recovery retreat weekend includes daily Mass, including a healing Mass, engaging conferences or talks by the retreat directors, discussion group sessions, and adjacent Alcoholics Anonymous meetings. Many participants, including those from the Matt Talbot Group 55, find these retreats life-giving and essential to their recovery process, resulting in many returning as regular retreatants. Importantly, all faiths are welcome to join our Matt Talbot retreats.
Matt Talbot Group 55 encompasses the areas of Bergen County NJ, Hunterdon County NJ, and Chemung County NY. We are proud to have long-time members who travel from Tennessee, Massachusetts, Long Island, and Delaware. All recovering alcoholics seeking a transformative AA spiritual retreat experience are warmly welcomed. Our group remains self-supporting through the generous contributions of its members. We also maintain a scholarship fund that enables attendees to join our Alcoholics Anonymous Spiritual Retreat at a discounted rate. If you are unable to attend a retreat in person, you can support our scholarship fund by donating below.
